TALES Too TERRIBLE To TELL Pre-code HORROR Comics Reprints

Pre-code HORROR Comic Book Reprints Part Three: TALES Too TERRIBLE To TELL!
In part three of our series on pre-code horror comics reprints we take a look at the great late 80s – 90s reprints from NEC New England Comics called TALES Too TERRIBLE To TELL, the brainchild of editor in chief George Suarez, a leading authority on pre-code horror comic books.
In 1989 NEC published issue number one of Tales Too Terrible Too Tell.  It was a special numbered edition with exclusive cover by Swamp Thing artist Steve Bisette who worked with Alan Moore on the classic comics series produced by DC.  A few years later, NEC re-released issue #1 with the shrunken head cover by Jack Katz originally published in Out of the Shadows #8 in 1953.
Copies of TTTTT are readily available on Ebay.

All SCI-FI  and HORROR pre-code Comic Books Ever Published: PART TWO.
Welcome to the second part of our series on every HORROR and SCI-FI precode Comic Book Ever Published.
In part one we covered all titles from ACE to EC Comics, now we focus on comics from F thru Z starting with the excellent FAWCETT and ending with the awesome ZIFF-DAVIS.
Herein we present the data of who, what, when, and how many are indispensible for the pre-code comic book collector. During the pre-code horror/sci-fi period, approximately 1,370 issues from 110 titles were published.
With many thanks to the great FOUR COLOR FEAR, a fantastic reference book about pre-code horror and sci-fi comic books that helped me a lot in the making of my documentary HAUNTED THRILLS, free to view on the channels.

HAUNTED THRILLS Pre-Code Horror Doc Going to MEGACON Orlando

Mike Lyddon’s pre-code horror comic book documentary HAUNTED THRILLS will be showing SATURDAY, May 21st at MEGACON in Orlando, Fl as part of the film festival.
This amazing event will feature comic artist guests including FRANK MILLER,  Marc Silvestri, Adam Kubert, and many others.
Celebrity guests include JOHN CLEESE, Gina Carano, Nathan Fillon, Brendan Fraser, Elijah Wood and more.

Pre-Code HORROR Comics Doc Playing at FEAR FAIRE in Las Vegas

HAUNTED THRILLS will be screened at FEAR FAIRE May 13 – 14, 2022 at the Rio Hotel and Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV.  Mike Lyddon’s documentary featurette on pre-code horror comic books from the 1950s  will be playing in the film festival part of Fear Faire which is a horror convention of independent music, film, and art.  It will feature live music including members of the original Oingo Boingo, make up effects demos, freakshow, costume contest, and more. Many thanks to the festival officials for selecting HAUNTED THRILLS to be part of the event.

Kinstler Cover for Strange Worlds Pre-Code Comic Book Number 3

Everett Raymond Kinstler did this great Cover for Strange Worlds Pre-Code Comic Book Number 3 in 1952.
Kinstler did a lot of covers and interior illustrations for Avon during the pre-code comic books era and is featured in my film HAUNTED THRILLS, a doc now out on various platforms.
