Castle of Unholy Desires aka Castle of Bloody Lust 1968
Greetings, fiends, today we’re looking at that little known but well loved late 1960s euro trash movie, Castle of Unholy Desires aka Castle of Bloody Lust aka Castle of the Creeping Flesh from 1968. Director Adrian Hoven. Co written by euro trash cinema king Jesús Franco and director Adrian Hoven.
Castle of Unholy Desires Plot
In an ancient castle, a mad scientist is trying to revive his dead daughter by an operation, but there are certain body parts he needs that he can’t get. His problem is solved when a group of drunken party-goers stumble into his castle.
Crazy eyed Baron Brack (Michel Lemoine, Seven Women for Satan) hosts a party for some upper crust degenerates including the Baron’s fiancée Marion (Claudia Butenuth, What Have You Done to Solange?) and her brother George (Jan Hendriks), sexy socialite Vera (Janine Reynaud, The Bitches), and her lusty sister Elena Lagarange (Elvira Berndorff) with her fiancé Roger in tow (Pier A. Caminneccis, Succubus).
Pinnacle of Movie Poster Art
Folks just look at that key art on the left and compare it to the other key art for Castle of Unholy Desires or Creeping Flesh on the right.
While the one on the right is fine and eye catching in its own right, it’s nowhere near the scintillating savagery of the poster on the left.
German Euro Trash Cinema
Castle of Unholy Desires or Creeping Flesh is classic german euro trash cinema with all the trimmings. You have several hot euro babes who love to get nude and lude, a smattering of bloody scenes and violent sex scenes, creepy castle, occasionally atmospheric and eerie lighting and of course a plot that is batshit crazy. In other words, Castle of Bloody Lust delivers all the goods like a good euro trash film should.

Sexy French Actress Janine Reynaud
Gorgeously statuesque and voluptuous redhead knockout Janine Reynaud was born on August 13, 1930 in Paris, France. She began her career as a model for designer Jean Patou. Janine started acting in movies in the mid-1960’s. She achieved her greatest enduring cult popularity with her alluring and captivating portrayal of kinky and enigmatic nightclub stripper Lorna Green in Jesús Franco’s offbeat and intriguing experimental erotic masterpiece Succubus (1968). Reynaud went on to play sexy sleuth Diana in the delightfully silly spy spoofs Two Undercover Angels (1969) and Kiss Me Monster (1969), which were also directed by Franco. Janine appeared in thirteen films with her actor/writer/director husband Michel Lemoine; they were especially effective together as a predatory swinging libertine couple in the steamy The Sensuous Teenager (1971). Janine quit acting in the late 1970’s and died at the age 87 in 2018 in France.
More 60s and 70s euro trash films
There are a ton of 60s, 70s and 80s euro trash films. That being said, there are many fine films called euro trash that are definitely not in that category.
I often see these films lumped in with euro trash and its a damn shame.
Lucio fulcis ZOMBIE from 1979, The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue by Jorge Grau 1974, DArio argentos DEEP RED FROM 1975 and Suspiria 1977,
95% of Mario Bava’s films, and in the western category The Good, The Bad And The Ugly (Sergio Leone/Clint Eastwood, 1966).
Here are some bonafide euro trash flicks –
Cannibal apocalypse 1980 starring john saxon, The games schoolgirls play 1972, That girl is a tramp from 1975, and Zombie holocaust 1980.
I hope you enjoyed this look at Unholy Desires, as always pllease like and subscribe. thank you.
