About Mike T. Lyddon
Mike T. Lyddon has been making no-budget indie genre films for more than 30 years.
His last feature film, “Witch Tales”  aka Cuentos de la Bruja (2020) is a horror anthology movie.  It is based upon lesser known 1950s pre-code horror comic books in the vein of Tales from the Crypt.  Witch Tales landed in 13 festivals and garnered 6 awards over the 2019-2020 seasons.
In 2022 he released a documentary on 1950s pre-code horror comic books called HAUNTED THRILLS.  It won six awards for best short documentary during its 2022 film festival run.
His new documentary “Lovecraft in Florida” is a two part doc focusing on writer H.P. Lovecraft’s time in Florida.  It is currently on the 2026 film festival circuit and has garnered an early BEST SHORT DOCUMENTARY award from the prestigious A NIGHT OF HORROR FILM FESTIVAL.

Mike  has an Amazon Authors page that includes his short stories as well as several issues of Monster! magazine he wrote articles for.
He has since sold several stories to a variety of publishers and a number of illustrations to magazines such as Cosmic Horror Monthly and Lovecraftiana: The Magazine of Eldritch Horror.  In the latest issue of Lovecraftiana, Lyddon has contributed the cover art and a few interior illustrations.

LOVECRAFT IN FLORIDA

Lovecraft in Florida takes us on a trip to the remains of the famed Barlow residence where H.P. Lovecraft spent several months over the last years of his life visiting his friend and fellow weird fiction enthusiast, Robert H. Barlow.  Barlow would become a key figure after Lovecraft’s death as a preservationist and archivist for some of Lovecraft’s most important stories.  These original manuscripts in Barlow’s possession were eventually passed on to August Derleth at Arkham House Publishing and the rest is glorious horror history.

BLU-RAY COMING AUTUMN 2026

Lyddon plans on releasing a blu-ray of the Lovecraft in Florida documentaries along with a short doc on The Creature from the Black Lagoon filming locations in Florida and his 2022 doc HAUNTED THRILLS.  Haunted Thrills had tremendous success on the film festival circuit being an official selection in 19 film festivals worldwide and winning six awards for best documentary.  The film explores the pre-code science fiction and horror comic book era of the late 1940’s to mid 1950’s.  It features commentary by three living pre-code comic book artists – Joe Sinnott, Everett Raymond Kinstler, and Victor Carrabotta, all of whom have sadly passed away.
The Blu-Ray will be a special signed and numbered limited edition release so please bookmark this website as we near the release date, probably in October of 2026.
